The 4th annual Frontenac Heritage Festival opening ceremonies with Mayor Janet Gutowski and our Town Crier, Paddy O'Connor, at the Sharbot Lake Legion. Danka Brewer - 'White Bear' - will be conducting a smudging ceremony to open our local business members networking breakfast. Members of the public are also invited to attend. Guest speaker Mike Proctor will take the group through an amazing talk about life as it was 200 years ago.

Friday & Saturday visit Crow Lake Schoolhouse where outdoor Pioneer crafts and living outdoors a reenactment of life in the mid 1700s will be on display, accompanied by lunch served inside the Schoolhouse (Saturday lunch only). Local elementary schools will attend on Friday with bussing provided.

Join us at The Maples Restaurant in Sharbot Lake, where we will be announcing the winners of the Photo Contest and Snow Sculpting Contest. All entries in a slide show presentation including past Heritage Festivals. Enjoy live music provided by The Maples restaurant.

February 21, 2010 Snowmobile Heritage Ride
Sharbot Lake Ontario
The Frontenac Heritage Festival Committee invites snowmobilers to explore the Historic K&P Trail from Sharbot Lake to Snow Road as part of the Frontenac Heritage Festival Celebrations which are taking place Feb 19-21 in Central Frontenac .
The K&P Trail Ride will begin at the Sharbot Lake Medical Centre at 11:00 am Sunday Feb 21 and feature stops at local points of interest and insight into the history of the K&P Railway provided by Wayne Harris, President of the Sharbot Lake Snowriders. Wayne is a long time area resident, a retired teacher and local history buff.
The guided tour will end at the Snow Road Snowmobile Clubhouse where participants will have the option of enjoying a light lunch at a nominal cost. From there riders will have the option of exploring further on their own or returning to Sharbot Lake with the group.
Frontenac County has recently approved a document outlining policies for development of the K&P and other trails throughout the county. Central Frontenac Mayor and Past Warden Janet Gutowski is planning to join us for this event.
